The main parameters are not fragment parameters…

…they are parameters of the fragment engine/scheduler. This is the reason there is a lag when adjusting the parameters before a change in the sound happens. (Most noticeable when the fragment rate is in the slowest range.) The main parameters control the fragment engine, which generates parameter values for the fragment voices as new fragments are needed, while the old, still playing, fragments play with whatever values they started playing with. This is somewhat tricky to overcome currently, but it is an issue I have occasionally thought about, so it might be fixed some day in the future. (Just change the word “fragment” with “grain” if that pleases you more.)
