HourGlass 0.9.2 release

Changes :

-Added per-fragment pitch envelopes. Operating them is similar to how the fragment volume envelopes work. When using this feature, it’s recommended not to use the “filtered linear” resampler mode, as that may cause clicks in the audio in some circumstances.

-Added new resampler mode, 16 point sinc, which is not hidden by default in the GUI, although it probably does use quite a lot of CPU when the simultaneous voice count gets high.

-Saving and loading of action keyboard shortcuts hopefully improved

-Envelope editor “Envelopes” button has new submenus to show/hide from a list of all parameters currently available for envelope editing

-Other minor fixes and improvements

Unfortunately I didn’t yet look into how to make the knobs in the GUI have a better appearance under Windows XP or Vista/Win7 with Aero turned off. Probably in the next release…

Just had to say thank you and congratulations on this awesome software.

The new version is great, thanks! I have some ideas about the layout/gui.
Here is the first one. For easier use of wave shapes. Wave shapes in a “sequencer” type setup?
May be, a “Current” light on each of the “wave shape lanes” to indicate which wave/lane is being edited?

Just a thought. Thanks again, Scott

Oh! And may be a save function for user created wave shapes?

Just to clarify, you mean the automation envelopes by “wave shapes”?

I have already been thinking about both suggestions. Saving/loading individual envelope curves would be easy to add.

Unfortunately the “show multiple envelopes stacked” like in your screenshot is much more difficult to do. But perhaps at some point, it certainly could be a useful addition…

Opps! Sorry, I meant, “Saving/loading individual envelope curves..”
    this would be fantastic.
As for the “show multiple envelopes stacked”, I figured, that might be a bit of a hassle. But good to hear, it might make it in, some time 😀

    Thanks again!

Hmmm, after turning on my pc for the day, I get this message:

    “Live output recorder error
Could not open live recording file for writing.”

I used HG with no problem yesterday (Fri). I did uninstall my Lexicon Alpha drivers on Thursday and have made no audio settings changes since. HG worked Friday but I get the above message to day, I’ve tried HG releases 0.0.8 – 0.9.2. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Scott

On W7 X64. I’ll be re installing my Alpha drivers today. We’ll see 🙂

Solved! Seems, I’ve moved my audio storage folders and have thrown off HG. I just reset the “render to” folder and it seems to be working fine. Thanks again, Scott 🙂
